I am officially a high school graduate…..
I don’t even know how to feel about this. I’m just now getting used to everything about high school, and now it’s over. No more flash mobs, no more food fights, no more Bike Club, no more Music Fridays, no more warehouse parties, no more RGC parties, no more ruling the school, no more RHS football games, no more pre gaming for the RHS football games, no more “I believe that you fuck dogs” chants, no more RHS basketball games, no more sludgefest, no more 8 period school days, no more flower parties, no more prom, no more senior night, no more Ravenwood/Brentwood rivalry games, no more principal turned DJs, no more teacher prom flashbacks/flashmobs, no more senior skip days, no more hanging out in the RPL, no more meeting in the RPL, no more roaming the halls of Ravenwood, no more befriending the sophomores and juniors, no more underclassmen jokes (because I’ll be one, obviously), no more teacher bands, no more make a wish, no more Dodge For a Cause, no more bunny ears, no more Destin for spring break, no more being young and acting young, no more parents to rely on, no more of the people I’ve seen almost everyday for the past 4 years, no more Brentwood, no more Nolensville, no more DT nashville, no more GossipGirl texts, no more making my way up the totem pole, no more RHS twitter fights, no more driving around at 9 pm drinking because there isn’t anywhere else to drink, no more funny rumors about my friends, no more AAT class with all of my favorite people, no more of anything from this place, no more of life as I know it. Time to move forward with my life, and it’s a scary feeling. Growing up is not as fun as it once looked. Seriously, listen to the song Don’t Blink and that describes high school TO THE T. If you’re still in high school, participate in everything. Don’t waste your time on boys, don’t waste your time giving a shit what others think/say. Ignore the rumors and do what you want. Go to football games, go to basketball games, go to prom. JUST DO IT. You’ll look back on high school, reminiscing on your graduation day, just as I’m doing right now.. and if you don’t participate in the activities going on with your school, I am telling you this from my experiences in my previous years of high school (9th-11th grade to be exact), you will regrets every single chance you didn’t take. So instead of missing out on everything, take chances, kiss the boy, go to the game, dance with everyone, take as many pictures as you can and enjoy it while you can. High school only happens once, and you can never get those years back. I sound like i’m 80 years old and about to die, but it’s all so true. So please, if you’re reading this…… take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way for the rest of your high school career. Time for college now.
